CHICAGO (WLS) -- A dead rat and a handwritten note were found Sunday night at a Chicago alderman's office on the city's North Side.
Chicago police officers responded to a call for service around 7:30 p.m. to the 5600 block of North Western Avenue in the West Ridge area.

Officers discovered a deceased rat on the doorstep of a building and a handwritten note containing "derogatory statements" was left at an office there, CPD said.
The office is that of Alderman Andre Vasquez, which is located at 5620 N. Western Ave.
An ABC7 crew on the scene witnessed the alderman, who appeared to be speaking with investigators. Vasquez told ABC7 he has no comment at this time.
No one was in custody as Chicago police continue to investigate.
