Not to diminish the year’s stellar field of nominees for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, but it was obvious that Noah Wyle was walking away with the Emmy Award tonight. His performance as Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavitch in HBO ’s medical drama, The Pitt , wasn’t just the role of a lifetime; it also helped thousands of struggling healthcare professionals feel seen for their tireless and selfless work.

"What a dream this has been,” Wyle said in his acceptance speech. “To anybody who is going on shift, or coming off shift tonight, thank you for being in that job. This is for you.”

For his contribution to the medical community, he wore a black tuxedo to the awards show designed by the scrubs company, FIGS. “We made a tuxedo and it’s probably the only one we’ll ever make,”
