LASALLE – Forward Max Brocklehurst understood the assignment.
With the Windsor Spitfires closing out exhibition play, the 16-year-old Brocklehurst was hoping to make an impression.
The Sackville, N.S. native did just that by scoring Windsor’s first two goals in an 8-5 win over the Flint Firebirds at the Vollmer Complex.
“I needed to have a game like that,” said Brocklehurst, who finished exhibition play with three points in four games. “I felt my first two games weren’t nearly as good as I had this weekend. I just had a different mindset this weekend and came out and had a good weekend.”
A third-round pick by the Spitfires in 2024, Brocklehurst spent much of last season in junior B with the LaSalle Vipers. His performance on Sunday now gives the Spitfires a little more to think about a
