For her work in "Adolescence," Erin Doherty took home the award for best supporting actress in an anthology series or movie at the 2025 Emmys.

Ahead of the awards show, Doherty told TODAY.com what the Emmy win — her first — might mean.

“I couldn’t even tell you. It sounds quite cliche, but I love the whole team aspect of what it is to make something and be a creative person. I've always found awards so kind of disarming in that sense — because I’m like, Oh, God, can’t it just be wonderful for everyone?" she said.

She said she hoped she could "be present" the night of the Emmys and "have a gorgeous time celebrating with everyone who made it."
