ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – One month into the new school year, Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) reported the confiscation of five guns. The district stated that this situation is unacceptable. Just days after school started, teachers at Albuquerque High School discovered firearms on two different students, both found within moments of each other.

Less than a week into the school year, Albuquerque's largest school district had to confiscate several guns from its campuses. In August, five guns were taken from West Mesa, Del Norte, and Albuquerque High. A video captured the moments when police dealt with two students caught with guns at Albuquerque High School.
