PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Evergreen Prosthetics and Orthotics didn’t let the rain stop its annual Community Track and Field Day at Duniway Track on Sunday.

“It’s raining, but it hasn’t dampened our spirits,” said participant Jack Richmond, who is also the former president of the Amputee Coalition.

Sunday’s event was designed to connect people with prosthetic limbs or orthotics to resources and to inspire them to get active. But the event was also designed to introduce people to a like-minded community.

“I’m super excited to be here and just share my story and just hopefully inspire some people who want to get active and see what’s possible,” said Taylor Swanson, a paralympic track athlete from Washington State who competed in Paris.
