SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- The San Diego City Council is set to discuss the implementation of parking fees at Balboa Park on Monday, a move that has sparked community concern.

Councilmember Raul Campillo has urged San Diegans to voice their opinions ahead of the meeting, highlighting the importance of public input in the decision-making process.

"I don’t think it’s fair," said Joanne Ellison, a Banker’s Hill resident who recently moved to the area and frequents the park daily.

Ellison expressed concerns that the proposed parking fees could negatively impact workers, small businesses, and visitors to the area, describing it as a "huge inconvenience."

The council is expected to discuss and review a final plan for the parking fees, although the specifics of the plan remain uncertain.
