Long before the Gem State and the nation witnessed a 47-day manhunt for a quadruple murderer in 2022, they did the exact same thing in 2005.

That time, it was a serial killer who had slain three members of a Coeur d’Alene family in the middle of a May night before taking the youngest two — Shasta, 8, and Dylan, 9 — from their home.

As Idaho remembers, only one survived.
