NATO is "at war with Russia" over Ukraine, the spokesman for Russian President Vladimir President has said.

" NATO is at war with Russia. This is obvious, and it does not require any additional evidence," Dmitry Peskov told reporters, state-run news agency RIA Novosti reported. "NATO is de facto involved in this war."

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski had earlier said that, despite the Russian drone incursion into Poland's airspace, which required some of them to be shot down, NATO is not at war with Russia.

Ukraine has received substantial assistance from NATO allies, including the U.S., during its defense against Russia's ongoing invasion.

But NATO has not directly entered the war, nor are its troops deployed there to fight. Ukraine is not a member of NATO.
