(WPRI) — A New University of Rhode Island (URI) poll released overnight highlights what's at the top of Rhode Islanders' minds when it comes to being happy here.

The poll surveyed 500 Rhode Islanders ages 18 and older between Aug. 1 and Aug. 18.

More than half of those polled said they are satisfied with the quality of life in the Ocean State and 22% said the local economy is strong.

Key concerns were housing, health care, roads and bridges, with nearly half of the participants ranking those high on the list.

The poll shows that 93% of Rhode Islanders believe housing costs are a problem, yet when it comes to solutions, their opinions are divided.
