An Australian woman who upped sticks to the UK has admitted she was shocked by a number of differences between the two countries when she moved, adding one difference still 'terrifies' her.

Nina Skalonja, 31, made the move to Swansea, Wales, from Adelaide in October 2024 after "falling in love" with Welshman Ben Roberts, 28.

After 11 months in the UK the project planner says that she loves living here, but confesses there are a number of cultural differences between her new life and back home which she is still getting used to.

Among the cultural differences which Nina says she is struggling to get used to is the "heavy" day drinking culture in the UK, which she says she "hardly saw any Aussies doing".
