A pair of Comox Valley athletes stole the show at the Frontrunners Fit Chiropractic Dodge City X off-road triathlon on September 6.
Veteran cross triathlete Natalie Ward of Cumberland won the women’s standard event, while 28-year-old Adam Welsh of Courtenay topped the field in the Open category.
“It was a great day for racing, with pristine lake conditions, lots of sun and smiles all round,” said race director Ryan Parton. “The field was slightly smaller than in past years, but there was still a lot of strong competition out there, and our top finishers needed to bring their A-game.”
The seventh annual Frontrunners Fit Chiropractic Dodge City X featured a 1.5 km swim in Comox Lake followed by a 22 km mountain bike and a 9.5 km trail run through Cumberland’s world-class trail network.
