An Abbotsford athlete is getting the chance to take his skills to the world stage, with Maijken Meindertsma recently being named to Team Canada for the upcoming World Rowing Championships.
Despite only dipping his toe into the aquatic sport in 2021, the MEI alumnus has already managed to make a pretty big splash, competing for the UBC Thunderbirds men's rowing team.
Meindertsma was one of three UBC rowers to be named to the national team, joining former Thunderbirds Joel Cullen and Axel Ewashko.
