Fat Shack, a late-night comfort food chain, is opening its first South Dakota location in downtown Sioux Falls.

The franchise is owned by former South Dakota State University athletes Tyler and Kenzie Weir.

Known for its "Fat Sandwiches," the menu features deep-fried items, burgers, and milkshakes.

Fat Shack , the national late-night comfort food chain known for its New Jersey-style “Fat Sandwiches,” is opening its doors Sept. 12 at 8th and Railroad in downtown Sioux Falls.

The franchise owners, South Dakota State University Jackrabbits football standout, Tyler Weir and his wife, Kenzie Weir, have taken it upon themselves to open not only the first Fat Shack in South Dakota, but also in the Upper Midwest, the next closest being Kansas City and Chicago.
