Letters: Local schools, local control — don’t outsource democracy

In Thompson School District, no matter our race, background or ZIP code, families and educators want the same things: strong schools, support for every student, and a community where all kids can thrive. Every day, we navigate IEPs, secure reading help, and address growing mental health needs — real challenges that impact real people.

But outside groups with no accountability to our community are trying to divide us for political gain. They push school board candidates to focus on “culture war” flashpoints like pronouns and book bans instead of literacy and student wellness.
