Detroit ― If the Tigers have been consistently good, and borderline great, at one position throughout most of the franchise's 125-year history, it's at catcher.

The Tigers have had 10 different catchers make at least one All-Star team, led by Bill Freehan's 11 selections ― making it the most-decorated infield position in Tigers history, ahead of eight each at first base, third base and shortstop, and seven at second base. And they've had at least one in seven of the last 10 decades, since the All-Star Game began in the 1930s. The only exceptions have been the 1940s and 1950s, and the 2020s ― at least, for now.
