The Seattle Storm ended the Las Vegas Aces' winning streak in dramatic fashion during Tuesday's WNBA playoffs action.
Yep. Las Vegas' 17-game streak has been busted. Here's how it happened.
The Aces did not shoot well from 3-point range, a staple of their powerful offense. In return, they were punished on the perimeter by the Storm, who shot a scorching 50 percent from deep. Also, the free-throw line was uncharacteristically a nightmare. Las Vegas shot a stunning 69 percent on gimmie points.Seattle also erased what felt like an insurmountable 14-point lead in the second half. The Storm sealed the deal with a gusty fourth quarter that included a go-ahead and-one opportunity from rookie Dominque Malonga and a cold-blooded game-winning jumpshot from guard Skylar Diggins.
Lost in the electric atmosphere was one moment with Seattle coach Noelle Quinn that shouldn't go unnoticed. Quinn was absolutely going through every emotion coaching, and someone needs to see it.
She was so unbelievably hyped and excited that she had to be ushered back to the bench by the referee after she drifted out way too far. A photographer managed to capture a photo of that moment that encapsulates Seattle's huge upset win.
Please look at this magic. Everyone is totally locked in, and there's Quinn, gleeful, up in the air.
What a win for the Seattle Storm.
