‘Tried to make a few moves and just burnt myself out’ – Ireland’s Andrew Coscoran 12th in 1500m at World Athletics Championships

Andrew Coscoran finished 12th in the 1500m final at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, the 29-year-old Dubliner clocking 3:35.87 in a race that produced a massive shock up front – with Portugal’s Isaac Nader taking victory in 3:34.10 ahead of Britain’s Jake Wightman (3:34.12) and Kenya’s Reynold Cheruiyot (3:34.25).
The race favourite, Niels Laros of the Netherlands, only finished fifth
