The lights will go down for the Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival beginning Thursday (Sept. 18) at Shaker Square Cinemas in Shaker Heights.
The festival will feature four days of in-person screenings and virtual screenings from Sept. 22-26. Programs include narrative feature-length and narrative shorts in addition to documentary shorts and features.
The festival will host movies from filmmakers with local ties, including sportswriter Branson Wright, who produces the short sports documentary “Finding the Underdog: Qwan’tez Stiggers Story,” directed by Chris Surrey, which tells the story of an underdog who started one college football game attempting to make it to the next level.
