(FOX 5/KUSI) — The San Diego Superior Court is warning residents about several scams that involve fake court documents and seek cash payments from victims.
The court issued a news release on Tuesday detailing recent instances of fake court documents sent to victims seeking payments.
One instance involved a fake notice stating that the victim had an arrest warrant issued and that payment would clear it, the court said.
Another scam stated that a court case involving the victim had started and the perpetrator sought payment for alleged services.
The court also detailed scams from earlier this year that included victims being told through text or phone call that they had an active case or hearing and needed to pay.
