Tropical Storm Gabrielle formed over the central tropical Atlantic Ocean Wednesday morning, becoming the seventh named storm of the 2025 hurricane season, according to forecasters with the National Hurricane Center in Miami.
Located more than 1,000 miles east of the Northern Leeward Islands, Gabrielle was producing winds of 45 mph and moving north-northwest at 22 mph as of 10 a.m.
The NHC's latest forecast track shows the storm churning over open waters for several days, eventually reaching hurricane strength over the weekend. Gabrielle is not expected to impact Louisiana.
No watches or warnings related to the storm had been issued as of Wednesday morning, according to the NHC.
