The High Holidays are fast approaching and, though the Jewish New Year is often associated with savory feasts, no festive meal is complete without a lavish spread of desserts. From Hanukkah to Shavuot, observers across the world close their celebratory dinners with an assortment of sweets.

When it comes to Rosh Hashanah, there isn't one particular dessert linked with the occasion, but we're partial to apples and honey — two very closely connected sweet foods. Bringing a treat to a family gathering, then, typically means leaning into those fruity, aromatic flavors.
