HERNANDO, Miss. (WMC) - The Hernando Board of Aldermen rejected an attempt to rename a street in the city after murdered conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Alderman Kit Kitchens proposed the name change for a street leading up to Hernando High School, but his motion failed to get a second from any of the other aldermen.
During the meeting inside Hernando City Hall Tuesday night, citizens like Chris Pierce, whose brother was killed in a hit-and-run in Memphis a month ago, say Charlie Kirk’s message of family, faith and country resonate deeply.
“I don’t want to talk about who Charlie has changed,” he told the board, “I want to talk about who Charlie is going to change. He may not be here on this Earth today, but he is alive in millions of millions of people like me.”
