PEARL — A Rankin County man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges of sexually abusing children, District Attorney Bubba Bramlett announced Wednesday.

Sonny Jacob Lee, 44, pleaded guilty to sexual battery and gratification of lust. He was sentenced to 40 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with 25 years to be served without the possibility of early release or parole.

Following his release, Lee will serve five years of supervised probation and must register as a sex offender. He was also ordered to have no contact with the victims and is barred from unsupervised visitation with any child under the age of 18, unless otherwise ordered by a court.
