Khalil Mack appears to have avoided a worst-case scenario.
The Los Angeles Chargers edge rusher’s left elbow injury is not season-ending, though it will still keep him out weeks, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported on Wednesday.
Mack left Monday night’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders at the end of the first quarter after appearing to awkwardly jam his arm between a teammate and opponent while attempting to make a tackle.
The 34-year-old had already established his presence against the Raiders, the club that drafted him fifth in 2014, after he sacked quarterback Geno Smith to force a Las Vegas field goal. His 12 1/2 sacks against the Raiders are the most versus any team.
He is a three-time first-team AP All-Pro player and a nine-time Pro Bowler.
Mack has recorded double-digit sacks
