In his opening remarks to the media on Wednesday at Ford Performance Centre, general manager Brad Treliving said Max Domi — a candidate to replace Mitch Marner on first-line right wing — will be day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Article content Article content

“Unfortunately, we had a tweak here leading up to camp,” Treliving said. “We anticipate he’s probably not going to start fully tomorrow, but hopefully soon after he’ll be ready to go.” Article content

Mattias Maccelli is among the other candidates to play with Auston Matthews and left winger Matthew Knies, but head coach Craig Berube has said there likely will be various experiments through the regular season.
