South Carolina's 8th Judicial Circuit Solicitor officially announced his run for the state's attorney general at the Laurens County Museum on Sept. 16.
David Stumbo, who reported raising more than $67,000 in his initial campaign disclosure report, stated in a press release that he promises to be the "conservative prosecutor" voters can trust. He was first elected 8th Judicial Circuit solicitor, covering Laurens, Newberry, Greenwood and Abbeville counties, in November 2012 and vies to take over for Attorney General Alan Wilson, who is running for governor.
