Costco has recalled a wine it says presents enough danger that the company wants customers to "immediately" throw the bottles away.
Bottles of its Kirkland Signature Prosecco Valdobbiadene, even when left unopened and not being handled, may explode.
The recall impacts bottles purchased from April 25 through Aug. 26 of this year in Minnesota and 11 other states, including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
"If you have an unopened bottle, do not open it," reads a letter Costco sent to customers who purchased the bottles.
"Dispose of the bottle immediately (do not return the item) by wrapping the unopened bottle in paper towels and placing it in a plastic bag before placing it in the garbage to avoid risk from
