JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan announced Wednesday the city will host the next three Florida High School Athletics Association (FHSAA) basketball championships starting in 2026.
The announcement came at VyStar Arena alongside members of Visit Jacksonville and FHSAA CEO Craig Damon.
It's the first time in the more than 30-year history of the tournament that the games will take place in Jacksonville. Deegan describes the tournament as a "slam-dunk for our city."
The tournament will be held on the campus of the University of North Florida, with a welcome reception for families at Florida State College at Jacksonville.
The rural classification championships will take place Feb. 24-27, 2026, and championships for classes 1A through 7A will take place March 5-14, 2026.
