An Air Quality Action Day has been extended into Thursday for Johnson County.
Forecasters with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management are expecting ozone levels to be in the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (Orange) range, with Air Quality Indexes of between 101-150 expected. Continued unseasonably warm temperatures combined with low humidity, sunny skies and light wildfire smoke are expected to contribute to elevated ozone levels that are forecast to reach the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range, according to a news release.
