ST PAUL, Minn. — People usually don't give out free money, and those who promise to are frequently scam artists drawing a bead on unsuspecting victims.
The Minnesota Department of Revenue says state residents are being targeted by a new text scam seeking personal information. The texts claim to be from the department and ask the recipient to click on a suspicious hyperlink and update their banking information in order to claim a refund.
