WASHINGTON — A former DC Police officer could face nearly three decades in prison after pleading guilty in federal court Wednesday to sex trafficking a minor.

Linwood Barnhill , 59, appeared before a judge in an orange inmate's jumper to enter his plea. He's been held without bond since his arrest in May on multiple counts alleging a multi-state sex trafficking operation involving at least two girls, ages 15 and 16.

Under the terms of his plea, Barnhill will face a range of 20-27 years in prison at his sentencing hearing on Dec. 12. Barnhill's attorney told the judge that he has several medical conditions and offered that he should be moved to treatment facilities in the Department of Corrections while he awaits his court dates.
