Swarms of supersized spiders will invade British homes over the festive season making it a not-so merry ‘crittermas’ for millions. ‌

Folks will see a spike in eight-legged arachnids and could even find one “under the Christmas tree”, insect boffin Dee Patel warned. ‌

The warm summer means the creepy crawlies have been feasting on a plentiful supply of grubs in the past few months which has boosted their mating season. ‌
