JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — An Atlantic Beach nonprofit has announced plans to build a residential community at the site of the Duval County Public Schools headquarters, which is expected to relocate.
Fleet Landing, a nonprofit that operates retirement communities in Atlantic Beach and Nocatee, said in a press release Sept. 9 that it envisions its new community will become an iconic landmark and cornerstone for the city's continued downtown revitalization effort.
Given the name 'Fleet Landing Southbank,' the nonprofit says during the initial phase of development, a 30-story residential tower with nearly 300 residences will be built.
For the second phase of development, Fleet Landing says additional residences and amenities will be built to "complement the first tower."
