Southeast Michigan will continue to see summer-like highs this week, with some cities potentially tying or breaking temperature records on Thursday, Sept. 18.

Forecasts highs will be in the upper 80s, exceeding records set on that date many years ago in some cases, the weather service said. Other southeast Michigan cites have forecast highs within a few degrees of NWS records.

Wednesday's warm weather, could also set new records for some locations in the Upper Peninsula. Newberry is expected to record a high of 81 degrees which could surpass the city's current mark of 67 degrees set on that date in 2009.
