GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - This Saturday, Pirate Nation will experience BYU’s unique approach to tailgating.
Rather than bringing beer and brats, BYU fans will be bringing non-perishable food items to benefit the ECU-Ross Purple Pantry . The mission of the ECU Williams-Ross Purple Pantry is to decrease food insecurity among the students of East Carolina University and increase access to other personal care items.
Prior to the ECU vs. BYU game on Sept. 20 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., BYU and ECU fans are invited to bring non-perishable goods to BYU’s tailgate area at 2296 Charles Blvd.
Run by the BYU Alumni “Cougs Care” program, the tailgating effort is a manifestation of the school’s creed: “Enter to Learn, Go Forth to Serve.”
