There's been a lot of conversation going on recently about history and the stories that we tell ourselves about our past. There's also been debate over who gets to tell those stories, and which stories are worth listening to. I don't have a solution to that issue, but I do have some books that retell the history of North American colonization from a different perspective, and I can say for me personally that reading them has changed the way I view that history and the crazy world that it's led us to.
