CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Governor Patrick Morrisey announced Wednesday that more than $767,000 in emergency funding is being awarded to food pantries across 13 West Virginia counties impacted by flooding earlier this year.
The funds, distributed to 63 food pantries, are intended to help communities still recovering from the February and June floods by keeping shelves stocked for families in need.
“While the flood waters have long since subsided, we are still working in the affected communities to help them make a full recovery,” said Governor Morrisey.
“These funds will help local food pantries keep food on their shelves so they can continue to serve those who were hardest hit by this year’s floods.”
