FRANKFORT, Ky. – A Logan County man who threatened a prosecutor and a judge has been sentenced.

According to the office of Attorney General Russell Coleman, Melvin Haley, 44, pleaded guilty to two counts of Retaliating Against Participant in Legal Process (Class D Felony) in Logan County Circuit Court. The action was taken by the Attorney General’s Special Prosecutions Unit.

Haley made threats against the Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney while being prosecuted for criminal domestic violence in a case against him. Haley also threatened the circuit court judge.

The Office of the Attorney General says Haley was convicted of strangulation, second degree, in the criminal domestic violence case. He was sentenced to three years.
