With Patriots defensive coordinator Terrell Williams unavailable for medical reasons for the second straight week, inside linebackers coach Zak Kuhr will continue to call the defense when New England hosts the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
Mike Vrabel provided the update before practice on Wednesday. He announced last week that Williams stepped away from the Patriots due to “unforeseen” circumstances.
Kuhr made Patriots’ defensive calls during Sunday’s win over the Dolphins in Miami.
There’s no specific target date for Williams, who also missed time for a different medical reason in training camp, to return to full responsibilities. Williams has been back at the facility, but isn’t at 100 percent.
