BOISE, Idaho — Eighty-eight people were killed during the 100 Deadliest Days on Idaho roads, according to the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD).
ITD said 60 people were killed in motor vehicle crashes, and 23 of those people were not wearing seatbelts. ITD also said one-quarter of people killed this summer were motorcyclists.
ITD listed the following factors as the Top 10 contributing causes to deadly crashes during Idaho's 100 Deadliest Days:
No seat belt use
Failure to maintain lane
Speeding
Alcohol impairment
Inattention
Driving left of center
Overcorrection
No helmet
Asleep, drowsy, or fatigued
Improper overtaking
ITD said there were four deadly incidents in Kootenai County and one in Bonner County during Idaho's 100 Deadliest Days.
