FOXBOROUGH - Christian Gonzalez said he was “excited” to finally get back out to practice after an extended absence due to a hamstring injury.

The All-Pro corner, however, didn’t want to make any promises about playing Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, or provide any timetable as for how long it would take him to ramp back up into game condition after missing the past seven weeks.

“It’s been very challenging to be out for so long. But I’m focused on the here and now,” Gonzalez said, speaking with reporters at his locker. “I’m not really too worried about the injury. I’m not going to answer any questions on that, we’re just focused on Steelers.”

It’s a good sign that he’s no concerned about the injury, or the possibility of re-injuring the hamstring.
