The Monroe County Board of Commissioners decided to appeal Judge Carol Kuhnke's decision in their case against Mark Brant.

During their meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 16, the board passed a motion to appeal Kuhnke's ruling that Brant's prison time did not automatically make him lose his seat as Monroe County 's District 2 commissioner. She also ruled that he has the legal right to the seat for the term that began on Jan. 1, 2025.
