INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana -based Cook Medical has partnered with Siemens Healthineers to create a radiation-free, image-guided MRI machine.
In a press release , the companies announced they had developed the Interventional MRI Suite, or iMRI, as the "first integrated, ionizing radiation-free solution intended to transform how clinicians diagnose, plan and perform minimally invasive procedures."
Cook Medical Vice President Peter Polverini told 13News this partnership combines new product developments from Cook with high-quality imaging from Siemens, a German company.
"We do images in real time," said Polverini. "So we are able to target and maximize that day on that table so a patient knows exactly, 'is it cancer, or is it not cancer?'"
