MOSES LAKE, Wash. – The Moses Lake School District announced on social media that they’ve reduced their budget by nearly $1 million.
The district said they had 43 employees in their district office two years ago, and now they have just 35. They also said that “all administrative replacement positions were hired for lower salaries than previous employees and no positions were given raises.”
Moses Lake School District said their district office costs in 2023 were $4.6 million, and these cuts have reduced it to $3.7 million now.
The update comes after months of controversy and confusion surrounding the district’s budget. The district faced , but later clarified to NonStop Local that they were not entering the new school year with a shortfall.
