Rowe’s will pay a total of $1 million to five California counties after the national retailer was accused of overcharging consumers and misleading them with false advertisement.

District attorneys from Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, Sonoma and Alameda counties filed a civil lawsuit, alleging the home improvement retailer sold products at higher prices than the lowest advertised or posted prices and misled consumers.

Between 2018 and 2022, more than 4% of its merchandise was overcharged with an average overcharge of 19.3%, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.
