LIVINGSTON COUNTY, MI - During a Wednesday afternoon visit to Michigan, Vice President JD Vance had a message for Gov. Gretchen Whitmer: “Gretchen, we are happy to send the national guard to Detroit.”

During a Sept. 17 speech at Hatch Stamping in Howell that lasted a little under 30 minutes, Vance covered a variety of topics, from the economy to the recent assassination of conservative political activist Charlie Kirk.

But the line that got among the rowdiest responses was Vance’s mention of Whitmer and the National Guard.
