NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities are working to identify the driver involved in a hit-and-crash that resulted in the death of a man Tuesday night in North Nashville.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the crash happened at the intersection of Dr D.B. Todd Jr. Boulevard and 17th Avenue North.

A preliminary investigation reportedly indicates that a 67-year-old —only identified as a Nashville man— was lying in the middle of the roadway when a black Jeep hit him and continued to travel northbound.

Police said the 67-year-old was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died.
