If you notice a strong emergency services presence at the Harrisburg International Airport this weekend, there’s no reason to be alarmed.
On Saturday, Sept. 20, the Harrisburg International Airport, along with other emergency services, will conduct emergency training exercises.
The airport, airport mutual aid fire, EMS providers, Pennsylvania Air National Guard, American Red Cross, and approximately 50 volunteers will help keep the airport in compliance with regulations from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
According to the FlyHIA website , “The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requires all commercial service airports to conduct a drill of their Airport Emergency Plan every 36 months.”
