It's time to bust out your running shoes for a great cause.

Creighton's 42nd annual Walk for Wishes event is taking place Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, at Chalco Hills Recreation Area.

Make-A-Wish Nebraska is teaming up with Creighton University School of Medicine for the community-driven 5K run/walk dedicated to raising funds and awareness to help grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

"It costs, on average, about $10,000 to make a wish come true for a kid with a critical illness," said Ryan Kimball, a member of the Make-A-Wish Club outreach team.

Kimball sat down with KETV's Waverle Monroe to promote the student-led event. He says they are aiming to attract 250 participants to reach their fundraising goal. All proceeds go to the Make-A-Wish Founda
